The 2018 Conference on Promoting Key Projects of the Belt and Road Cultural Trade and Investment (the Promotion Conference) was successfully held on Oct. 26, 2018 in the National Base for International Cultural Trade Beijing.
The Promotion Conference went after the successful opening ceremony of the Belt and Road Cultural Trade and Exhibition Trade Fair on the morning of the same day and the opening of the exhibition hall for the key projects of the Belt and Road cultural trade and investment. It was guided by the Former Liaison Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, hosted by the National Base for Cultural Trade Beijing and BCI International Holding Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Beijing International Center for Cultural Trade Services. The Promotion Conference invited over 20 companies of key projects of the Belt and Road cultural trade and investment of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and relevant service institutions and partners of the National Base for International Cultural Trade Beijing.
It was chaired by Zhao Wei, Assistant to General Manager of BCI International Holding Co., Ltd. whose General Manager Liu Wu gave the opening speech. At the conference, corporate representatives introduced their projects and companies and shared their accomplishments and experience in cultural innovations and overseas promotion & marketing: Mr. Yu Fengcheng (General Manager of Zhuhai Golden Jazz Culture Industry Management Co., Ltd.) gave a speech titled When Chinese Opera Meets Jazz, Mr. Ma Yinji (General Manager of the Foreign Trade Department of Anhui Keemun Black Tea Development Co., Ltd.) gave a speech named Chinese Tea Culture on the Belt and Road, Ms. Qin Ting (General Manager of China Cultural Media Chuangzhan (Beijing) Cultural Development Co., Ltd. Under China Cultural Media Group Co., Ltd.) delivered a speech titled the Path for Implementing Cultural Trade from Cultural Exchange, Mr. Zhao Ke (Assistant to General Manager of Songcheng) gave a speech named Building a Century Company with Craftsmanship, Mr. Mao Kenan (Sales Director of Dalian Betop Culture Technology Co., Ltd.) gave a speech titled 360 Degree Flying Ball, and Mr. Kong Yakun (Assistant to General Manager of Xiamen BlueBird Cartoon Co., Ltd.) delivered a speech named Let the Dream Fly, which impressed the attendants greatly.
After that, French Sinologist and collector Ms. Astrid Narguet shared her professional opinions on cultural exchange and arts exhibition & promotion; Chen Gang, Assistant to General Manager of BCI International Holding Co., Ltd., introduced the National Base for International Cultural Trade Beijing and relevant base-joining policies, and senior managers of Beijing Innovation and Incubation Center for Derivative of Cultural Relics, Beijing Language Services Center for Cultural Trade, ArtFoxLive and Zhongbozhituo (Beijing) Cultural Industry Development Co. Ltd. also introduced their cultural trade service systems and innovative cross-border businesses, which served as suggestions on display and promotion of key projects of the Belt and Road cultural trade and investment.
In order to implement the Ministry of Culture’s Action Plan on Belt and Road Culture Development (2016-20) and accelerate cultural trade development of China with countries along the Belt and Road, the Ministry of Culture released the Notice of the General Office of Ministry of Culture on Collecting Key Projects of 2018 the Belt and Road Cultural Trade (BanWai [2017] No.137) to the public in May 2017 for collecting key projects for cultural trade of the “Belt and Road”. Upon public collection in various provinces, initial review by provincial and municipal departments of culture and final review by the Ministry of Culture, 40 key projects were finalized in October 2017, covering 24 provinces and municipalities (autonomous regions) including Heilongjiang, Gansu and Guangdong and focusing on such 7 areas targeting countries along the Belt and Road as cultural investment and infrastructure construction, marketing & promotion of the digital culture industry, the cultural and creative design industry, the performing arts, industrial arts and cultural tourism industry and cultural equipment, cultural trade talent training, and the building of foreign cultural trade platforms.
Upon approval and guidance of the former Liaison Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in August 2018, the National Base for International Cultural Trade Beijing is supported to hold the Conference on Promoting Key Projects of the Belt and Road Cultural Trade and Investment, which aims to improve projects’ brand awareness and influence of companies, earnestly promote implementation of key projects of the Belt and Road cultural trade and investment, and further increase the size of China's foreign cultural trade.
Established under the cooperation framework of China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and officially licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Beijing) and the Culture Free Port of Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone serve as a national-level service platform for international cultural trade. Following the requirements of “The Belt and Road” development initiative and culture development strategies, the NBICT takes advantage of the airport bonded policy, functions and services to provide domestic and foreign cultural institutions with international services such exhibition and experience, communication and promotion, transaction settlement, incubation and cultivation, financing and investment, and warehousing and logistics, based on three functional zones, namely the Gathering Center for International Cultural Trade Enterprises, the Exhibition, Warehousing and Logistics Center for International Cultural Products, and the Trading Service Center for International Cultural commodities. With its construction and development based in Beijing, the NBICT is committed to serving the whole country and even the rest of the world, and developing into a center for global cultural exhibition, exchanges and trade.
